Basic plot
The story plot of this pilot episode is quite simple: in a futuristic,
post-apocalyptic setting in which little remains of the world as we know it now,
one girl stands between total annihilation of our species and savior. Her name
is IQ, she’s a modified human being, meaning that she has been enhanced with
some cybernetic parts and brain implants. The implants hold vital information for
the resistance, who need to use it to unlock a certain mainframe. Unfortunately,
IQ was badly damaged in a skirmish with mercenaries, who wiped out her entire
squadron meant to escort her to the resistance. In the process, IQ’s brain implants
have started to malfunction, causing her to not be able to distinguish fact from fiction
most of the time. In this pilot episode, we see how IQ, in her badly damaged state,
manages to escape the remaining mercenaries inside a massive cement high-rise complex.
There is very little dialogue involved in this pilot episode. However, what the audience
doesn’t hear in the form of words, they need to see from the actors' and actress' expression instead.
Despite the fact that IQ is part machine, she retains most of her human traits,
in that she is an emotional being. She’s dazed and confused after having suffered
the traumatic event, feeling helpless at times, and paranoid and afraid when subjected
to nightmarish hallucinations. Combined with flashbacks to more blissful times, and hints of
what the past was like, IQ finds her way out of the depths of her mind, and into the
world, or what’s left of it. She has to learn to cope with her confusion, and gradually
she starts to understand that all is not what it seems to be.
